Obiettivo Description:The Laser Centre of the Vrije Universiteit (LCVU) is a multi-disciplinary facility in which physicists, chemists and biologists have combined their laser-oriented research activities. They share a common infrastructure of an exceptionally well-equipped laboratory, with state-of-the-art laser systems and auxiliary equipment, sophisticated computer facilities and highly qualified support from mechanical and electronic workshops. It is the availability of a large variety of laser systems, applied in a multitude of relatively small-scale experiments in the various disciplines that makes the LCVU-facility unique in Europe. Laser systems ranging from tunable CW lasers for highly precise studies in the frequency domain, via femtosecond lasers for accurate studies in the time domain, to high power lasers in the nanosecond range for non-linear optical studies and generation of short-wavelength radiation, are operational. Research activities vary from fundamental studies of atoms and molecules, laser cooling and manipulation of atoms, dynamics of photosynthesis, chemical reaction dynamics and fluorescence spectroscopy of biomolecules, to more applied studies of laser-isotope separation, environmental trace analysis and atmospheric, bioanalytical and photophysical chemistry.Access can be applied for through the website of the joint cluster of six collaborating Large Scale Laser Installations in Europe (Limans3) at http://tmr.mbi-berlin.de/.Application:Calls for proposals will be published in Europhysics News, and permanently on the WWW through the LIMANS-III-Cluster Web site http://tmr.mbi-berlin.de/ and each participating installation's Web site.Project Manager:Willem Hogervorst, Faculty of Sciences, Division Physics and Astronomy, De Boelelaan 1081, Amsterdam1081 HV, The NetherlandsTel: +31-20-4447947Fax: +31-20-4447999E-Mail: wh@nat.vu.nl Campo scientifico natural sciencesbiological sciencesbiochemistrybiomoleculesnatural sciencesphysical sciencesopticsspectroscopyemission spectroscopynatural scienceschemical sciencesnatural sciencesphysical sciencesopticslaser physicsnatural sciencesbiological sciencesbotany Programma(i) FP5-HUMAN POTENTIAL - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base" (1998-2002) Argomento(i) 1.4.1.-2. - Access to Research Infrastructures Invito a presentare proposte Data not available Meccanismo di finanziamento LFC - Access to Research Infrastructures Coordinatore VRIJE UNIVERSITEIT AMSTERDAM - VERENIGING VOOR CHRISTELIJK WETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERWIJS Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo 1081,De Boelelaan 1081 1081 HV AMSTERDAM Paesi Bassi Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato
