Obiettivo

Description:

Merlin is a versatile flying laboratory offering several scientific configurations: basic meteorological instrumentation, turbulent flux equipment, cloud-physical studies, in-situ chemistry instruments (NO-NOx-Noy, CO and Ozone). Access to the Merlin IV is offered through the EC-funded Human Potential Programme - Access to Research Infrastructure contract, under a joint aircraft project (with DLR, Germany; MRF, UK; and INSU, France) called CAATER (Co-ordinated Access to Aircraft for Transnational Environmental Research). About 10 hours on Merlin is foreseen per user group, for a total of 5 or 6 research user groups from EU Member or Associate States. The facility is offered with the configuration required, including infrastructural, logistical, technical and scientific support.

Application:

Through call for proposals, as advertised in various scientific literature, including 12-monthly through the Newsletter of the European Geophysical Society, and via the internet address below. Selection of proposals is carried out by the CAATER User Selection Panel, involving 7 external experts, to ensure an independent peer review.
