Idea - Interactive Database of Energy-Efficient Architecture

Ziel

IDEA aims at improving the dissemination of knowledge related to passive solar and energy conscious building as important criteria for sustainable development in building design. Experiences on passive solar and energy conscious design in the building sector exist in many countries due to recent research and technical development programs, also financed by European authorities. The results however are not at all widespread and thus the adoption of new techniques into the marketplace does not happen in the desired volume. The projected Interactive Database for Energy-efficient Architecture IDEA intends to present the existing know-how by means of a multimedia database. IDEA shall combine building examples with calculation tools and an encyclopaedia on energy-efficient architecture for to be a reliable design tool for architectural practice? Distribution of IDEA shall reach architects, small and medium size building companies and building engineers.
