Obiettivo To developed, implement and optimise an earthquake early wearning SHIELDS for hydrocarbon storage sites. A subsidiary objective is to developed a system for safeguarding points of delivery of gas inside a seismically active region, from the secondary earthquake hazard of fire. The SHIELD will provide vital parameters of the impending earthquake such as the time until strong shaking begins, the intensity and duration of the shaking and will be based in a combination of seismic sensor arrays and an artificial neural network based system, which will be trained using regional siesmicity.
