Objective 1. To examine EU experience on the public acceptability of schemes for energy from waste and biomass residues, including comparisons of successful and unsuccessful schemes;2. To transfer this experience to regions where there are extensive problems with acceptance of incineration of energy from waste and biomass residues, through a workshop for appropriate local authority personnel;3. To organise a study tour of successful systems;4. To make recommendations on public consultation to improve acceptability of energy from waste and biomass residues;5. To identify local authorities interested in such schemes and willing to be monitored through public consultation.
