Klasorden 42 Mw; A Demonstration Of Cost-Optimised Large Scale, Offshore Wind Energy In The Baltic Area

Cel

The aim of the project is to demonstrate the economic advantages and technical viability of a large-scale offshore wind farm uses the largest wind turbines available and is built with the use of innovative installation techniques and contracting methods developed by the offshore oil and gas industries. The project will also be used to carry out an assessment of the environmental impact of a large-scale offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. The results and knowledge gained from the project will be disseminated widely throughout the EU in order to accelerate the implementation of offshore wind power in the Baltic Sea and other European waters. (Assessments of the environmental and socio-economic impact of the wind farm, will be carried out as separate studies using data gained during the implementation of the project. Separate applications for support from FP5 will be submitted under calls: Jan 2000 (KA 3.2) and Oct 1999 (KA 505)).
