Advanced nanostructured metal/metal-oxo/matrix catalysts for redox processes. application for nox reduction to nitrogen.

Objective

The project aims to establish concepts for the molecular design of hyper-structured redox type catalysts. The originality resides in a combination of unique poly-metal-oxo structures tailored inside micro porous matrices, in disentangling of the catalytic act in its elementary steps using multidisciplinary molecular approach, and integration of the optimum elements into new multicomponent catalysts. Such design of redox catalysts would realize a breakthrough in development of catalysts for SCR-NOx in exhaust gas from diesel engines, and selective redox catalysis generally. The Prototype catalysts, tested at real exhaust gas, and the Material Data Base will provide general guidelines for the catalysts design. This ultra-low NOx emission technology is prerequisite for the forthcoming EURO IV (2004) and EURO V (2008). This will bring massive car catalyst manufacturing, clean transportation and protection of the environment, and increase of quality of life in European dimension.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
