Protective clothing for use in the manufacturing of electrostatic sensitive devices (ESTAT-GARMENTS)

Objective

This proposal is in response to dedicated call 10/00, Topic IV.9. The problem today is the lack of complete understanding of the protective features of worn ESD-protective garments and the lack of relevant test methods. The main objective of the project is to develop and demonstrate test methods, which is to be used for the evaluation of ESD-protective properties. The development is based on development of a firm understanding of the physical relations demonstrated by physical models of both ESD-garment materials and the complete system. The methods will be submitted to the relevant standardization body: IEC TC101. The output will also be recommendations for the use of the protective clothing and know- how about electrostatic behaviour of composite materials. This means that the manufacturers of ESD-garments will get inputs for improved design of garments and the end-users will gain lower failure rate and increased reliability.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
