Objective
HIVs involvement in cervical carcinogen sis is complex and not easily understood by health policy decision-makers, medical professionals and the general public, where lack of understanding creates resistance to the implementation of new technologies and delays or prevents the potential benefits from being realised. This issue is addressed by combining the cervical cancer expertise that is available through the partnership with educational communications expertise for the preparation of informational materials specifically targeted at these groups Materials will be distributed throughout Europe in a uniform and consistent fashion by partnering existing organisations (media, cancer charities, professional medical bodies) and by taking advantage of web-based communications to provide all target groups with accurate, unbiased and up-to-date information to promote better-informed decision-making in important healthcare issues.
