A micro components-assembled spectrometer sensor system for on-line oil quality analysis.

Objective

The proposed project is aimed to the design and fabrication of two 'in-line' sensors to characterize the mid-infrared and visible response of different oils which integrate a diffraction grating of great accuracy and a microdetector, sensing "almost-punctual" intensities, based on micro fabrication processes. These sensors are expected to be inserted in current working machines (compressors) to jointly monitor a complete range of oil characteristics that can identify any kind of degradation or contamination that could affect lubricant (and hence machine). The consecution of this purpose would imply a great advance in the development and production of "in-line" sensors, which are increasingly demanded by industry and can be easily commercialised. This project covers TRA 1.5 in the activity b: Integration in products of advanced micro-components.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
