Cel Euro safe, as an international approach will contribute to face the challenges in nuclear and radiological safety and strengthen the idea of a European expert pool in these fields. The approach, based on a forum, a Tribune and a web-site, aims at supporting the objectives of Key Action 2 of the Euratom SFP by bringing together the European technical nuclear and radiological safety organisations and contributing to the dissemination of the results of research actions implemented within the programme. Covering a one year period, the Euro safe project offers to the major players of the nuclear and radiological safety fields from European Union, Switzerland, Eastern European countries and international organisations the opportunity to share experience, exchange opinions and conduct debates on key issues through this approach.A high level of nuclear safety is a priority for the countries of Europe. Regarding nuclear energy, the development of the European Union and its future enlargement require closer collaboration between technical nuclear and radiological organisations (TSO's), which play an important role to develop the safety of nuclear energy systems, and more convergence in European nuclear and radiological safety practices. The EUROSAFE approach, by promoting a European technical nuclear and radiological safety culture (exchange and dissemination of information) and developing the idea of a European scientific and technical pool in these fields, aims at contributing to the implementation of the nuclear programme Key-Action 2 - Nuclear Fission - with regard to the topics nuclear and radiological safety.
