Monitoring of the cardiovascular system of astronauts by means of noninvasive methods based on comprehensive computerized analysis of orthogonal electrocardiography

Objectif

The main aim of the project Astrocard is the development of complex computer electrocardiographic diagnostic system with the use of corrected orthogonal leads. It is planned to develop a method of intelligible-pictorial representation of the cardiac electrophysiological processes and states on the basis of Frank corrected orthogonal lead system and mathematical models of the cardioelectric generator (dipole electrocardiotopography, abbreviated as DECARTO). It is planned to modify the measurement procedure of orthogonal electrocardiography with the use of unipolar leads corresponding to the Frank lead system electrodes in order to increase the informativity of the initial data. Biophysically and electrophysiologically substantiated mathematical models for quantitative description and intelligible visualization of the cardioelectric processes in the normal and pathologically impaired heart will be formulated. A method for determination of spatial localization of the pathologic regions in the heart (topical diagnosis), in particular for the study of ischemic stage, injury stage, and necrotic stage of the ischemic heart disease will be worked out. It is planned to develop efficient algorithms and computer software for intelligible-pictorial representation of the spatio-temporal excitation processes and local electrophysiological events in the heart. These processes and events will be related to the anatomical landmarks of the heart's surface.
