A new approach to analysing fuzzy data and supporting decision-making regarding the possibility of earthquake occurrence

Objectif

Large earthquakes occurring in the region of the Caucasus since 1900 will be considered according to the instrumental data.
The project aims to study the precursors of large earthquakes occurring in the region of the Caucasus, as well as the triggering factors.
Possible interrelations of earthquakes triggered by low velocity migration waves will be investigated; characteristic parameters of these waves and their triggering effects will be studied.
The influence of planet distribution on the occurrence of large earthquakes will be determined.
The forms of precursors of earthquakes will be defined for the region of the Caucasus on the grounds of available geophysical data.
This project is of current importance, taking into account that:

1. It establishes the existence of two different triggering factors for earthquakes and hence the control of distribution of tension in the region;
2. The types of precursors of earthquakes will be determined for 40 regions of the Caucasus, for the first time, which is urgent so as to be able to carry out systematic observations of them in future.
