Obiettivo Steel sheet producers are facing constantly increasing customers demands for surface quality. This leads to a growing interest in surface cleanliness of steel sheet. The aim of this project is to get information about the formation, the transformation, the chemical composition and the technological behaviour of surface contamination on steel sheet. Therefore simulation and pilot tests (rolling, cleaning, annealing, coating) will be carried out under well known conditions and the surface contaminations will be characterised by different analytical methods. The information from these experiments will make it possible to reduce surface contaminations and improve the quality of coated steel sheet.
