Obiettivo The productivity of strip annealing lines for hot rolled strip shall be increased by avoiding critical strip geometry and misalignment of rolls in strip treatment lines. To meet these aims the following new approaches are proposed: further development and testing of a new special bending device to control hot strip geometry regarding crossbow and longitudinal strip camber; development of a new system for the parallelism of the rolls and their positioning. This system will use a novel sensor based on optical gyroscopes and an inclination sensor.
