Objectif Natural products provide an important source of compounds for new medicines. Even today, approximately 25% of all prescription drugs used in the industrialized world are derived from natural products. Part of the reason for this is that natural sources provoke access at chemical diversity, which cannot be invented on purely chemical grounds. In this application, research is described which aims at development of new neuropharmacological agents based on an earlier discovery of the structure of a neuroactive toxin from the parasitic wasp Philanthus triangulum F .
