Cel AREA OF RESEARCH TRAINING. Research training will be given in the field of liquid crystalline materials for use in active matrix displays. Main focus is the synthesis of novel, highly fluorinated liquid crystals and the development of new synthetic methodologies for the synthesis of such materials. Another aspect will be the physico-chemical evaluation of the new materials. The training will be promoted by the participation in internal and external scientific conferences. The fellow will be supervised in the guidelines of the innovation process ( strategic R&D management , project management , patent evaluation). THE WORK ENVIRONMENT. Applicants should have a PhD in chemistry and an aptitude for pioneering novel chemistry technologies. She or he should have their basic skills in chemistry substantially expanded in the field of organic synthesis . She/he should be interested in a interdisciplinary mind-set and be a self-motivated, creative and ambitious scientist. An ability to interact with internal and external personnel from a variety of disciplines is an important requirement. Fluency in German and/or English is required.
