Enhancement of co-operation between community and nationally supported research in the maritime industries (ENCONA)

Objective

It is the objective of this accompanying measure to identify the nature and structure of national RTD-programmes for the maritime industries in member states, analyse their target areas and formulate examples for test cases for maritime industry oriented RTD co-operation scenes between national and Eu funded research. This will in certain areas reveal situations where due to national or industry interests a close co-operation seems not to be advisable. Nevertheless also such information is essential in harmonizing the different programs and their levels of action. In analysing the work done at national levels and comparing it with EU-work it may also indicate secondary barriers (language, culture) that once known can be than properly addressed and eliminated.
