Objective As part of the joint study on the improvement of the cleanness of continuously cast steels, the project aims at using the following in a continuous casting tundish used for electrical, stainless and structural steels: 1. Guides capable of diverting the metal flow and changing, thereby, the fluo-dynamic conditions in order to improve coalescence and the separating out of very fine inclusions; 2. Calcium or ceramic-based reactive filters so as to filter out or modify the structure of very fine inclusions. The studies will take place in the laboratory (selection of new materials), at the pilot level and in the works.
