Objective
One of the main goals of our project is to educate young researchers to be able to create a bridge between experimentalists, engineers and advanced mathematical research. We do not expect all the young researchers participating in our project to perform activities on the applied side. Only a fraction of them will be recruited with this specific goal. Our idea is to stimulate the interest for application in young researchers who have an advanced mathematical training and feel that the quality of their mathematics could benefit from the confrontation with problems that go beyond the narrow horizon of a single specialization.
How to realize these goals ?
At the host institution: weekly seminars, talks of renown scientists, short courses on topics of interest for the young researchers. On the network level: annual conferences, workshops, summer schools (Greifswald Krupp-Kolleg , Levico ClRM), short visits to other teams, exchange of progress in research by electronic newsletters.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
