Optimising strategies for the detection of gene-nutrient interactions in the aetiology of colorectal neoplasia: an ecp consensus-forming workshop.

Objectif

We are offering to organise a consensus workshop focussing on links between intakes of nutrients and foods and colorectal cancer, and its precursor lesion, the colorectal adenomatous polyp, and how these are mediated by genetic factors influencing metabolism. More precisely, evidence and approaches to investigating the relationship between genetic variability and specific biomarkers of metabolism of nutrients and foods and have DNA hyper- and hypo-methylamine and DNA stability will be considered. The working method will involve intense individual preparatory work, focused consensus-forming discussions, and rapid dissemination of the results. The latter, while contributing to the awareness about thematic priority 1.3.3 of the work programme, will support and promote the successful design and submission of European-wide integrated research projects in this important field.
