Obiettivo The aim of this project is to develop a process to produce an iron-chrome alloy from low-cost chrome ore. The use of such a feedstock as iron-chrome alloy greatly enhance the economics of alloy steel production by both existing and possible future alloy steel-making routes. The smelting-reduction of chrome ores will be achieved using coal to produce liquid ferrochrome.
