Searching efficient treatment for reactive dyes removal from waste waters

Objectif

Reactive dyes represent a group of colorants, that is hard to remove from textile waste waters. Generally, oxidation methods give the best results, but are expensive. Physical and biological methods are cheaper, but are giving worse results and take longer times, respectively. Objectives of the project are therefore as follows.
1. To study physical, biological and chemical treatment methods for removal of reactive dyes from textile waste waters. Treatment methods will be studied individually, and in consecutive manner. Study of treatment methods will be carried out for waste waters intended for re-use and for those, intended for release in the environment.
2. To determine efficiency of treatment by measuring ecological parameters ( chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, total carbon, pH, temperature, etc.) and by calculating costs needed for the waste water to be treated sufficiently .
3. To propose the most efficient treating method from ecological and economical point of view.
4. To jointly deepen knowledge in the related field.
5. To prepare state-of -art article and joint research proposal for one of the EU programs in the future.
