Objective The aim of the project is to check the feasibility of using an innovative process, environment and human health friendly to extract polyunsaturated fatty acids from unicellular algae. This process is the supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. The markets aimed for these molecules are high value added sectors such as pharmaceutical, medical, dietetic and cosmetic industries. A technical study and market research will be performed. At the same time, we will search for partners for phase II of the study (CRAFT). This phase consists in industrialize this new process and to broaden the technique toothier algae species.
