Objective
EUROCARB XI will take place at Faculae de Cadencies ad Universities de Lisboan from September 2-7, 2001.This Symposium is held on a non-profit making basis and is fully self-financing. The presentations will cover a variety of areas related to Glycoscience, focusing problems of strategic importance for Europe and dealing with topics such as therapeutic substances, development of vaccines, nutrition and health, paper and fibres biotechnology. The multidisciplinary contributions of the plenary and invited lecturers from Industry, Universities and Research Institutes will give the participants, including the European young researchers and the scientists from NIS and CEEC, the opportunity to understand how to put research into work. Approximately 600 participants are expected to attend the Meeting, which will be transmitted by web cast. We request funds to partially cover the attendance costs of 13 plenary and 54 invited speakers and to help with the participation of 25 young researchers and scientists from NIS and CEEC. Our request is to cover 100 %of the difference between the total costs and the income of the Meeting, which corresponds to 48 % of the total costs.
