Objectif Inez Institute or bond orate Physics, University or Latvia, organises jointly with the Institute or Physics, University of Tart, Estonia, the Large Scientific Conference: "The 15th International Conference on Defects in Insulating Materials, ICDIM'2004, in Riga, Latvia, July 11-16, 2004. The 15th Conference continues the tradition of the international conference series that begins in 1956 at Argons, USA. The last two ICDIM Conferences were held in Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem (USA, 1996) and at the ESKOM Conference Centre in Johannesburg (South Africa, 2000). The scientific objectives of the Large Scientific Conference ICDIM'2004 is to provide a forum to bring together scientists from academic research and industry to discuss both the basic physics of defects in aide range of insulating, that is wide-band-gap materials and their role in numerous applications, rapidly expanding field. The conference series has usually 350 to 400 participants. Technological objectives and importance for society of the ICDIM'2004 will be to contribute towards the economic development and scientific and technological progress as to contribution to the harmonious and sustainable development of the European Community (Newly Associated States and Member States) as a whole. The organization of the Large Scientific Conference will contribute the development of scientific research in the Baltic States Latvia and Estonia into the European dimension. The principal objective of the Proposal is to use the Community Marie Curie LCF Programme in order to enable eligible European young researchers to attend the ICDIM'2004 in order to benefit from the experience of leading researchers from the whole world.
