Ziel

The Innovation Relay Centre Austria (IRCA) will be organised as a consortium at national level, directly connecting four regional partners (BIT, APS, CATT and BEP) in Austria. The strategy is to combine the strengths of a well chosen set of regional technology transfer centres, economic promotion institutes of the Federal Economic Chamber and university based industrial liaison offices. All network members have already established a functioning network of collaboration. They present well developed competencies in technology transfer, promotion of innovation, and national and EC RTD programmes. The structure of the consortium guarantees the total coverage of the geographical area proposed and enables an efficient and effective way to offer its services. Based on 7 years experience, the consortium partners developed a clear structure to offer the best support for Austrian clients interested in innovation matters and international technology transfer. Therefore the IRCA will mainly offer the following services: - Generating high quality technology profiles (primarily for high tech clients) - Generating technology requests identified through technology audits (primarily for technologically weaker clie nts) - Supporting the dissemination of Community funded RTD results to potential users - Offering TT related training and workshops to enhance the clients ability to adopt new technologies (technology watch, IPR & financing) - Devel oping signposting structures to external service providers in the technology and innovation sector (networks, clusters, competence centres, chamber of commerce, EUREKA, IRE network, etc.) These objectives are in line with the overall target of the Innovation and SME programme, the national policies, and correspond to the market needs. As a consequence, the IRCA operation will have a positive influence on European and Austrian industry.
