Operation of an Innovation Relay Centre in West Poland

Objective

IRC West Poland is a project of three partners' consortium to provide high quality TTT services for companies and research institutions in the region of western part of Poland. The mission of the IRC West Poland is to strengthen the competitiveness of the enterprises located in western part of Poland through promotion of the transnational technology transfer co-operation and stimulation the companies to adopt new technologies. The IRC West Poland activity is pursued with regard to an active technology and innovation policy to support the growth of particular regions and local technological potential of the clientele. The strategic objective is addressed to promote transnational technology co-operation by providing the cost-effective services. The geographical area includes 5 regions of western part of Poland, which are strong in particular sectors: electromechanical, automotive, ICT, chemical and biotechnological industry and food processing. IRC West Poland, as a member of the IRC Network since the year 2000, provides guarantee for their clientele to find the best technology partners throughout Europe in the quickest and most effective way. The IRC West Poland clients can find the cost-effective support services for widening their foreign contacts and for strengthening their companies' transnational co-operation. The key activities of IRC West Poland focus on innovation promotion among local industry, companies' stimulation to adopt new technologies, supplying the network with high quality technology offers and requests and organising joint actions with other IRCs, TTT events, companies' missions and professional trainings for entrepreneurs. All these high-quality services and activities will lead to expected results, such as: 27 transnational technology transfer agreement, 300 new local contacted clients, 600 matched clients and individual companies' meetings, 200 TO/TR published and 160 technology transfer negotiations started.
