Objectif The aim of this project is the design and production of a low carbon, low alloy steel with ductile structure able to be cold formed with a strength over 1000 MPa. The behaviour of quenched acicular structures tempered in different ways before cold drawing will be studied. The properties of the steel will be determined in the temperature range from -100°C to +500°C. These data will be used to produce products from cold formed pre-quenched bars with strengths above 1000 Mpa.
