Cel This project is aimed at evaluating residual stress measurements in austenitic stainless steels using the ultrasonic testing method and at developing a means of automatic residual stress mapping. The project will also attempt to validate the results using conventional hole drilling or X-ray diffraction methods. It will study cast-to-cast variations and the effect of metallurgical variables on ultrasound velocity.
