Obiettivo The relationships between dimensional changes in the straightened beam sections (straightness, flange parallelism and profile height) and the values of straightening parameters (screw down of straightening rolls, choice of axle spacing, distances of straightening discs, etc.) will be studied using a fully instrumented nine roll laboratory straightening machine, and optimised to minimise plastic deformations in the web root area. These strategies will be evaluated on a production beam straightened.
