Objectif The aim of this research project is to study the possibility of using high oxygen and carbon injection rates and modified charge composition in the production of stainless steel. Injection of large quantities of oxygen provide both heat and improved stirring, while carbon prevents oxidation of chromium. Inert gas injection techniques will also be studied.
