Objectif This research project is intended to investigate materials for casting roll construction according to melt composition, cooling methods, wettability, surface condition and layer formation characteristics. High roll construction costs and the problems of transferring laboratory scale data to industrial processes will be avoided through the use of a hot model of a roll caster developed previously within ECSC research work.
