The main aim of the EUROTRAVEL project is to boost the commercial exploitation of dynamic, cross-border public sector multimedia information (weather, traffic conditions, local events, etc.) through the integration of up-to-date information delivery with advanced, user-friendly, location-based travel information services, meeting users demands (citizens, tourists/visitors, farmers, SMEs, commuters, etc.) for multimodal (voice/graphics) and ubiquitous information access.
The EUROTRAVEL services will implement a one-stop shop mobile regional service access for the public, business and visitors. EUROTRAVEL will provide Traveller and Tourist Services such as long-distance traveller and weather information as well as information about regional services and attractions, Safety Services such as dynamic warning for dangerous road segments, weather, animal crossing, railroad crossing, Traffic/Accident Management Services such as "spot" traffic management for isolated congestion locations (e.g., near major tourist resort areas, work zones, and major accidents), Operations and Maintenance Services (vehicle tracking and advances dispatch, particularly for snow removal operations, etc.).
