MOBILITY CENTRES AUSTRIA (MOBA)

Obiettivo

In line with the objectives of creating a European Research Area and the European Network of Mobility Centres the Austrian initiative, Mobility Centres Austria (MOBA) will aim to provide proximity support to outgoing and incoming researchers alike. Following a thorough mapping exercise that involved 26 institutions at the national and regional level, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (bmbwk) selected two of these institutions to act as official Mobility Centres (MCs) and at the same time as Bridgehead organisations (BHs), namely, the Bureau for International Research and Technology Cooperation (BIT) and the Austrian Exchange Service (ÖAD). These two organisations were chosen due to their capacity, action radius and expertise in fulfilling the objectives. Together, the three organisations comprise the Core Consortium. The bmbwk, as overall coordinator, is the Core Consortium's primary contact to the European Commission, especially regarding strategic and policy issues (also through the Steering Committee), and will ensure proper communication with the BHs. The BHs in turn are responsible for information flow among all national network participants, will serve the proximity assistance and will be the contact point for the EC in matters of the ERA-MORE network. In this manner the network will remain manageable in size whilst remaining efficiently operational. The project is organised in 4 work packages comprising: development and strengthening of the national network; expansion of the already existing Researcher's Mobility Portal Austria; awareness raising activities; and management activities. The project aims to organise a national network of MCs and Local Service Centres supported by the national mobility portal as part of the European initiative. The project's objectives and awareness raising activities will address the national, regional and local levels as well as among the public and private sectors.
