An alliance to enhance the maritime testing infrastructure in the EU

Objective

The objective of this alliance is to develop a formal and lasting structure to co-ordinate the definition and introduction of novel measurement, observation and analysis technologies for hydrodynamic (scale) model testing environments. The co-ordination of development, the sharing of advanced equipment and the dissemination of knowledge and guidelines aims at a more integrated and efficient use of marine testing capacity within Europe. The Hydro-Testing Alliance will in short term contribute to competitiveness and excellence of the marine industry, and facilitate the continuation of world leadership of the European hydrodynamic testing facilities.

The result is: Confidence building between Alliance members to obtain a joint measurement policy Cooperation and co-ordinated technology progress Increased and strengthened competitiveness lead of the EU with respect to the USA and the Far East Excellence in skills and performance Novel technologies will be faster available to the market. The Hydro-Testing Alliance (HTA) is built on the incentives provided by industrial and scientific demands. It aims to be a practical organisation in order to have: Sufficient impact on its researchers, and Support form the -largely- market driven marine testing environment.

Note: The marine industry is very practical and demands trustworthy and cost effective results. As such, the initiators of the NoE have decided to build the network in a bottom-up process. This can be seen in the proposed structure and may in some respect be somewhat different from other NoE's. However, if results of lasting co-operative structures are required, this is the only way to go.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
