Designing, querying and exchanging XML data

Objective

The main purpose of the project is to bring Leonid Libkin, the leading database theoretician of his generation, to Edinburgh. The combination of his strengths with those of the recently formed database group at Edinburgh will create a world-class database research group, certainly the best in the UK and possibly the best in Europe.

If offered a Marie Curie Chair, the University of Edinburgh will negotiate a permanent chair for Libkin. As part of the project it is proposed to develop a research and educational programme in the Foundations of Management of Web Data with widespread outreach and strong links to both theory and practice.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.
