International Co-operation in Trustworthy, Secure and Dependable ICT infrastructures

Project description

Secure, dependable and trusted Infrastructures

The main purpose of the INCO-TRUST Coordination Action, specifically targeting international cooperation in the area of Trustworthy, Secure and Dependable ICT infrastructures, is:
1. To promote collaboration and partnerships between researchers from the developed countries with the goal of coordinating the multiple research efforts underway in the areas of ICT Trust, Security and Dependability (TSD).
2. To leverage and harmonise efforts on the respective sides related to the building and maintenance of large-scale trustworthy ICT systems and infrastructures and the services they deliver".

The CA would provide the organisation and financial support required for a practical and effective platform engaged in: (a) discussing progress and priorities; (b) setting the research agendas to be pursued at an international scale; and (c) co-ordinating the sharing, where possible and practical, of best practice, test facilities, knowledge and experience in an effort to avoid duplication in addressing problems arising from interdependencies (both planned and unplanned) of national ICT infrastructures at a global level.

This CA is specifically focused on ensuring that Europe has a strong influence on which TSD areas should be prioritized for international collaboration and equally importantly that Europe ensures that agreed solutions reflect the European trust, security and dependability requirements.

The CA would support collaboration and networking activities of EU researchers internationally, by engaging with top level researchers in the USA, Japan and Australia. This could be achieved through the active participation of researchers from many different regions via systematic and coordinated research activities.
