Obiettivo The scientific objective of the proposed project is to elaborate and test approaches to mapping and assessing Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) capabilities. This will include a review of the existing approaches in Europe, the US, the NIS and other regions and elaborating approaches suitable for assessing the research capacities in Europe and its neighbouring countries - the NIS and other countries. The approaches will be tested in five countries - two in the EU - Estonia and Lithuania and three in the NIS - Russia, Georgia and Azerbajzdzan. Based on the study, a report on SSH scientific capacities for the fice case study areas will be produced; and policy recommendations will be elaborated that will contribute to the better organisation of the international research cooperation between the EU and other countries. Information on the project will be actively disseminated through the project website, a brochure, email list and newsletters as well as through meetings and workshops.
