Objective
Development of a unified approach and software for numerically solving inverse and optimization problems for distributed systems. The project objective is - investigation of the following mathematical problems' statements: - parametric identification; - optimization of parameters' values; - optimal control of regimes. These problems arise when designing and constructing control systems for objects with distributed parameters. Mathematical models of such objects are described by boundary problems for equations with partial derivatives. - investigation of the questions of correctness of these problems' statements and revealing conditions of solutions' existence and uniqueness; - development and investigation of numerical methods for solving the considered problems with application of a unified conceptual approach that takes into account specific features of studied objects with distributed parameters; - development of software that implements elaborated numerical methods for solving the considered problems; - conducting computer experiments and development of indications for solving the considered problems from the results of these experiments. In particular, in the framework of the project, numerical methods for solving the following practically important problems will be proposed: - optimization of lumped sources placement and optimal control of lumped sources power, - optimization of distributed object domain shape with application of numerical methods based on necessary optimality conditions; - optimization of placement of object state observation points for the purpose of adequate parametric identification of mathematical models of distributed systems. The results obtained in the project will find extensive application in practical implementations and will be a subject of interest for specialists in numerical analysis of inverse problems and in optimal control problems for objects with lumped and distributed parameters.
