Objetivo INNOWT5000 aims to cover the following objectives:1. To design, manufacture and install a 5MW wind turbine (extendable to 5.5MW) suitable for offshore as well as for on land installations.2. To develop products and procedures to overcome the barriers of transport and erection of MW class wind turbines3. To respect the environment fully in line with the European directives, in every aspect, by adopting different philosophy and increased used of new and environmentally friendly materials and by incorporating it in every process of the manufacturing, transport, installation, operation and maintenance phase.4. To reduce the electricity production costs by optimising the design to competitive levels, i.e. targeting to electricity production costs at below 0.035/kWh when the machine will be marketed.
