Video enforcement for road authorities 2

Ziel

The FP4 TAP project VERA (TR4027) developed short- and long-term recommendations on enforcing traffic laws across Member States' borders. VERA2 will act on the short-term recommendations by developing tools necessary to establish pan-EU cross-border enforcement thereby ensuring that the enforcement of road traffic laws can be applied fairly and equitably to all European citizens. VERA2 has four objectives, each designed to address one of the short-term VERA recommendations.

The objectives are to draft and agree an MoU on cross border enforcement, to develop and test a common format for the exchange of data relating to cross-border enforcement, to establish the basis of an operational framework within which cross-border enforcement can be implemented, monitored and maintained and to develop a common basis for the type approval of enforcement equipment throughout Europe.
