European Research Area Mobile Researchers in Industry

Objective

Combining the two key objectives (increasing industry investment in R&D and generating more R&D personnel) of Lisbon Agenda, mobility of researchers in industry becomes one of the most significant tasks on the way to the Lisbon objectives. ERAMORE Network assists mobile researchers both in academia and industry; considering the significance of industrial R&D and FPs, the necessity of Mobility Centres (MoCs) to work closer with industry becomes ever more important. According to the report entitled Industry Participation in ERA-MORE (Nov. 2006); MoCs are mostly in universities and approaching industry is felt by a number of ERAMORE members as a particular challenge. ERA-MIND will utilise the recommendations of this report, develop tools and services for MoCs and disseminate these to the whole ERAMORE Network. By creating a coordinated effort, it will assist the MoCs to put into action the steps proposed in the report and to improve their service quality to industry. The main objective of ERA-MIND is to improve the overall competence of ERAMORE network and to facilitate cooperation between ERAMORE members in serving industry. This will be achieved by: creation of a network of industry end-users; raising awareness of industry needs and expectations; exchange of expertise and networking among MoCs; an industry toolkit for ERAMORE members; an industry specific section in ERAMORE Portal and National Portals. The consortium includes 3 authors of above mentioned report, both as organisations (APRE, IUA, Senter/Novem) and as persons. ERA-MIND will increase the competencies of ERAMORE Network members in serving industry by providing MoCs a common strategy, approach and tools, which are determined and developed by themselves. Tools and information materials created within the project will be disseminated to industry and researchers through MoCs network, who will benefit from this dissemination by increasing their visibility and service quality for industry and researchers.
