Project description
Accessible and Inclusive ICT
MARE is an 18 month support action which aims to carry out a technology and foresight analysis in the field of Assistive Technologies (AT). AT are all technologies used in daily life to improve quality of life and to live independently for longer. Typically AT refers to those devices that are designed with electronics, microprocessors and high performance materials which allow: powered mobility, augmentative communication, environmental control and the use of microcomputers. MARE will carry out an analysis of the state of development of these technologies and on the identification of the barriers to their full development, and will formulate a technology foresight to understand their future developments in Europe. This will be achieved through the following activities: 1) Defining ICT AT environment and delimit AT sectors; define AT "Users Centred Approach"; describe existing barriers to the full potentiality of AT; identify market stakeholders and missing players.2)Creating a dynamic repository for ICT AT technology as a result from FP6 and FP7 EC projects, EU and national projects and programmes, to cross analyse objectives and results achieved.3) Setting up a large AT User community that will be involved in the project activities via interviews and web activity, and creating an AT Expert group to be involved in the project for contributions, reviewing and consolidation of the AT foresight outcomes.4) Analyse maturity of ICT AT market, identify market trends and convergence paths, cross analysis of User requirements versus market structures, regulation frameworks, and market organisations.5) Defining a specific tailored Technology Foresight Model to identify AT future trends and responsiveness to a User Centred Approach. 6) Implementing a web tool and project dissemination activities to allow to carry out interviews via the web portal, thus to facilitate user participation and to disseminate the project results 7) Formulate technology foresight recom
