Objective
Advanced cities wants to mitigate their greenhouse gas emissions further together with local stakeholders and researchers and show how sustainable energy systems can be achieved through incorporating innovative technologies and systems. Common aims are heating and cooling shall come from renewables awailable waste heat shall be used for heating all generation of heating should be used for electricity production all new buildings and retrofitting should be energy optimised. Based on local energy analysis and EU policies, the following areas for substantial reduction of GHG has been identified and will be demonstrated in this project. A district heating system with low temperature waste heat. Design, construction and operation of energy optimised buildings. Distributed small scale co-generation in sterling engines using RES Demand side management: Individual metering and consumer initiated load control Absorption cooling using RES district heating system or solar thermal.
