Objectif As we move into an information society, the need for the security and privacy of communications and information exchange has been raised. In this environment, Information Security and Cryptography has become one of the main tools for maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Being a centre of excellence, Cryptology Department (CryptoD) plans to utilize its research and development resources towards activities for better integration to ERA. The main objective of this proposal is to improve the research capacity of TUBITAK UEKAE CryptoD in the area of cryptographic algorithms/protocols and their applications to wireless security and formal verification methods/tools. Such improvement in the CryptoD’s research capacity, will promote enhanced participation in the projects of Framework Programmes in the domain of ICT and Security. We aim to achieve this objective by improving our S&T capacity through the following: reinforcing human potential by enlarging our group, organising and/or participating in training activities such as short term courses, summer schools, series of seminars, workshops and conferences, organising and/or participating in meetings or brokerage events with European research centres having similar scientific interests to prepare joint RTD proposals, dissemination of scientific knowledge and information from CryptoD, and improve networking with researchers in EU by the above means The objective and the above approaches basically serve the promotion of our cooperation with RTD communities in Europe and with this point of view; they correspond to the aims of Call FP7-REGPOT-2007-1.
