Objective
We propose a IAPP project bringing together three Academic teams that are involved in the development and application of attosecond techniques, and two Industrial partners that produce high intensity femtosecond laser equipment and diagnostics instrumentation. This project will lead to the realization of unique femtosecond amplifier systems and the development of new attosecond XUV and single/few-cycle UV pulse generation schemes in the laboratories of the Academic partners, that are significantly beyond the present state-of-the-art. On the other hand, successful realization of these objectives will allow the Industrial partners in the project to bring these new approaches to market as part of or in connection with the high-intensity ultrafast femtosecond lasers that they produce, giving them a significant competitive edge in the rapidly evolving market, while at the same time significantly increasing the potential size of their customer base.
