ANTS RESEARCH GROUP EVOLUTION TO A RESEARCH EXCELLENCE INSTITUTE

Objective

The ANTS research group is a dynamic and very productive research group that since its creation has been growing in members, experience, intensity and results as to become it a reference research group at regional and national level. Last year, in 2007, ANTS group has been nominated and awarded as an excellence research group in the Murcia Region. Additionally University of Murcia has prepared a call for creating research centres (called research institutes) of excellence where the potential of the research done in the University could be leveraged and transferred to the society. In order to reach this next level in the process of excellence, as a first step, a clear Action Plan for this transformation has to be defined with the advice of an External Advisory Committee of leading experts in these fields. They will analyze the strengths and opportunities of ANTS group for the future. This project is designed to produce a SWOT analysis and an Action Plan for leveraging ANTS group to the next evolution as a research centre/institute of excellence in the near future.
