Objective
The EOS (Eyes On Researchers) project represents the most natural, social and organizational evolution of the innovative and successful AGORA’ project which took part to the Researchers’ Night 2007 FP7 program. AGORA' triggered, promoted and catalyzed a process of fusion of Research Institutes, Local and Regional administrations, cultural and scientific associations into the European association, a legal body, Frascati citta’ Europea della Scienza,(www.frascatiscienza.it) which is the present proponent of the EOS project. The EOS project has then a new quality: it is proposed and promoted by an association born in the framework of Researchers’ Night programmes. In EOS it will be paid special attention to the promotional and communicational activities in the metropolitan area of Rome and in the Castelli Romani district. The campaign will be reinforced with respect to the 2007 event. A participation of more than 15.000 people (potentially 25000) to EOS is anticipated. The EOS project is articulated in harmonically and well-equilibrated informal, pleasant, enjoyable and attractive activities addressed to the large public. Part of these actions will be held inside the participating Research Institutes, while another part will be organized into Castelli Romani towns in particularly characteristic places: main squares, parks, bars, restaurants, libraries, town halls, and significative places of European artistical and historical interest, like the famous Ville Tuscolane, old residences of Pope’s family, or the local archaeological Museum and conference hall “Scuderie Aldobrandini”. Specific activities will be dedicated to the small children, to their parents, to young and less young citizens. Hands-on experiments will be proposed, to show science can also be funny, together with guided visits in the participating institutes, such as to attract young people towards scientific careers. Special atention will be given to awareness campaign and to impact assessment.
