Proteomics facility at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Objective

The goal of the proposed project is to enhance the research potential of the IMBB in the areas of proteomics and systems biology and to provide immediate support for research excellence to its junior faculty. Collectively, the effort of ProFI will have three immediate reprercussions: on one hand it allow IMBB to strengthen its status as a centre of fundamendal biological research excellence in the EU periphery (the IMBB is situated in Crete, one of the EU convergence regions). On the other hand it will strengthen IMBB's capacity to secure competitive funding from the EU and other International sources. It will secure continuity of a research effort in the younger generation of researchers.
